Hi there! I’m Timothy Maurer and most of the times I’m a digital design director, other times a visual designer, in rare occasions (my family’s) tech support and a full-time caretaker of the best dog in the world. In my free time I learn new things about literally anything and travel the world on Google Maps.
Back in 2010 I co-founded a company called Studio Naam and that’s where I learned all things design and company related the hard way. Fortunately this worked out and resulted in a healthy business where we challenge ourselves and our clients with a direct and can-do attitude to achieve insightful, intelligent, exciting and fresh projects.
It’s there that I combine strategy with creativity and help to lead projects from day 1 all the way to the finish line, build long term relationships with clients and mentor new designers joining the team. Besides working on projects it’s also become a great playground to explore new technology that often gets implemented into our daily operations.
During the years my work has won several international awards, I talked at conferences and design schools, and had the pleasure of seeing work featured on all kinds of platforms and publications, such as: Items Magazine, SiteInspire, HTTPster, CommArts, Awwwards, Mindsparkle, etc.
Every once in a while I write something to keep track of my thoughts and if you’re ever at MOMA New York or Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam you can take a glimpse at a little book I designed together with Koen Geurts for photography duo ‘van Breugel & Mudde’.
